The energy also dictates social dynamics; Teruki Hanazawa originally held scorn for people without psychic power, calling them 'commoners,' until he was lectured and defeated by Mob for his arrogance. Organizations like Claw, a criminal organization composed of many Espers, gather others with psychic powers for their scheme to achieve world domination. The Super 5 serve as the right hands of their group's leader Touichirou Suzuki, with a specific division within Claw referred to as the Scars, named for the scar-like marks on their faces inflicted by Touichirou as a sign of loyalty and submission.
